Honestly I would prefer an established GM. Im not saying many are available. But theres something a little scary about a first time GM being put in charge of this franchise in the state its in. We cant afford anymore growing pains at this point..

Treliving would have been perfect. There is lombardi but his reviews are not good. I dont know..it just kills me to think that we could potentially be taking a step back before we take a step forward. Really hope thats not the case

as long as they eventually take that step forward i dont mind taking a step back, im actually for it given how things have unfolded.

I don't think there's a realistic view on the going rate for players on this page. Justin Williams has similar stats (24 points) and made over 3m. McGinn the same. Effective third liners cost more than 900k

Williams had 24 goals

Sure...As long as "eventually" doesn't mean 4+ years. I set high expectations and i want this team to be a playoff team next season. This team was partially built to win now. We have players entering their prime and we cant waste it. The new GM needs to figure out how to put the rest of the pieces in place asap.

Thats flawed though. This team was built in an **attempt** to win now. That failed. Its time to fix those errors and reconstruct. Im not saying tear it down or four years plus. That would be if no core was in place.

New management should mean different expectations. For me I want them to strip as much dead weight as they can and change the philosophy and style this team plays by. Its not playoffs or bust for me, its more about seeing this team actually head in the right direction.

As far as a specific goal, I want to see this team be somewhere in at least the middle of the league in 5v5 play. Should make for more goal scoring and exciting hockey as well, Id be happy with that.
